COVID-19: Community groups in Singapore race to help foreign workers

Community groups in Singapore are scrambling to help foreign workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus is on those living outside the dormitories, who may find it harder to get food and medical assistance. More and more foreign workers are facing strict isolation measures, due to a surge in cases among their community.

  1. Thanking migrant workers employers for bringing more than 500,000 into Singapore.

    And they escaped unscratched.

  2. After 16000 contracted covid19, we thanking them.

They were invisible for more than 30 years b4 only until now. Why?

  3. It will help A LOT if South Asians working here in corporate jobs volunteer themselves to help battle the virus in the dorms, the communications can speed up. Pls volunteer to help Singaporeans help the migrant workers. We need you.

  4. Theres a good reason why a growing number of people are calling this a scam and a planned-demic. Its a numbers game, and as long as the majority stay mind controlled by the fake news politically tied corporate MSM, the NWO will come into full fruition, and I believe this is all but guaranteed.

  8. Karma befalls on Singapore. What goes around comes around, and to think that Singaporeans have been proud of this garbage country until this day is just very funny. The whole world is laughing at Singapore, and it has become the clown of 2020. This is what you get for overcharging foreigners for rentals, bullying them and exploiting foreign employees until today.

  9. Thanks to all the healthcare workers, medical staff and all the workers hat tried their best to fight the COVID-19 and god bless all of us. We will WIN THIS WAR regardless of our hardwork.

  12. Singaporean homeless sleep where now. Got free foods for them or not. Or sleep in mosque on the floor. Hope that not happening. Foreigners expat sleep hotel and eat good foods. Hai..sad . 😔 anyone know where is our Singaporean homeless family now.

  13. Compassionate governance; that is vey good. These workers , though are not locals, but they contributed to Singapore’s economy. But pls don’t fall into the trap of “ governance by pandering “ That would become the next Taiwan and it will do Singapore harm.

  14. If divide by Singapore land area it would be 17 people per sq km infected by the virus COVID 19.

We in Malaysia pray that both of the countries doing well in fighting this virus.

Stay at Home and Stay Safe.

  15. To our migrant workers, THANK YOU very much for your hard work and effort to building many beautiful Singapore homes. Stay positive and fight with us all to combat this situation. Together we will get through this, we are all with you.

  16. In the first place why are they allowed here n all the ship people aloud in and was looked after n money for them to move around buy food n whatever . Why ps give answer.

  17. heh why still pay minister million dollar salary, shld give the money to these organsiation i doubt they will say we will forfit our minister salary for three mths.

  18. For those who're busy finding fault, let me tell you this (it might be grating on the ears, but it still needs to be said):
If we're finding fault, eventually everyone seems to have fault. If we're appreciative, let everyone be appreciated.
We don't have the luxury to do both at the same time!

The ones who're "responsible" for the situation are not some faceless "other" to conveniently vent your frustration at.
They could include your neighbour, your family, your former classmates … and most certainly you.
Do you think you're that different from the "leaders" whose decisions supposedly lead to this escalation of the covid-19 situation?
Are you sure you acted completely in accord with common sense and logic as the pandemic began?
Based on news so far, I sadly can't say that of most Singaporeans (even myself). (If you think you're so different, then good for you >.>)
Just recently, people flocked to Bubble Tea outlets just to get their last bubble tea high before the outlets closed.
And then there were the parties at Clarke Quay right till the bars closed.
Is it really that big a mystery as to why new infections are still going on in Singapore?

But we can change the situation, and the way is not to find fault, not to harp on what wasn't done,
but really cherish what we have NOW, and what CAN be done from HERE ON.
The fact that you're here watching Youtube already shows, to me, that you're living well off and have something to give.
So, are you going to squander that by giving negativity, or are you going to stand up and give hope?
BE the Singapore that you wish it to be!

Stay At Home, Stay Healthy (in both mind and body),
Do Our Parts and let's pull through this together.

  19. Actually why don't they built FW Dormitories like the HDB Flats. Like 20 storeys High. But the model in the house same like rented flats. 1 kitchen,1 Bathroom & a Square Hall. Facing Door To Door. 04 persons Per Unit.

  20. Our NSmen in army barracks keep their living spaces clean. They live in cramped rooms as well. Why can’t the foreign workers in the dorms learn to keep their place clean? It is cultural.

  21. The prisoners in Changi Prison keep their cells and toilets clean. They also live in small, cramped rooms but everything is clean. Why are the dorms so dirty?

  22. People seem to care more about foreign workers than the old uncles and aunties who are poor, who collect cardboard, etc and may not have a home to go to. Do they crave praise and recognition so much?

  23. the point is CLEANLINESS and AWARENESS. these people shouldve known how to anticipate this incident to be happened. they shoulve maintained their cleanliness better than usual, change their habits to the better ones, live the more hygienic life, do not go outside to meet their friends such as gathering in a crowded place like Little India, stop meeting their gfriend. but yeahh… whats done is done. no one to blame. just.. too late. regret always comes too late 🤷‍♀️

  24. Without covid 19 outbreak in dorms, nobody would really know or care these workers. And that's a hard truth.

  25. This CNA always report something good about Korea but forgot that other Asian countries such as Vietnam that is doing the most effective means that is why Vietnam now is flattening its cases fast.

  26. 0:52 Who's teaching them English?! There is only one alphabet with twenty six letters. If we're going to do something for their benefit, please do it correctly.

  27. We are wasting our time. Easier spoken than done. This is a crash culture shock for both parties. A duel that has to happen with our Singaporean’s aptitude towards foreign workers. We will be lost without them. Singaporean’ deserve this. Now LEARN!!
